Event Description:

The American Heart Association (AHA) will host the annual Denver Heart & Stroke Walk on June 1 at Broncos Stadium at Mile High.  The event will include a competitive 5K Run, Yoga in the End Zone, a 5K Walk and Survivor Mile, a “Healthy for Good” Expo, and a Puppy Parade.

The Heart & Stroke Walk raises funds to save lives from this country's number one and number five killers: heart disease and stroke.  Donations and registration fees help fund lifesaving research.

The 5K Run and Yoga on the End Zone include registration fees.  The walks and Puppy Parade are free, but fundraising is encouraged.

Individuals, teams and companies can sign up in advance for the walk, run or yoga at DenverHeartWalk.org.

In addition to raising money for research, the Denver Heart & Stroke Walk promotes physical activity, which leads to better heart and brain health.  The AHA recommends adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week, or 75 minutes of vigorous activity, and kids should get at least 60 minutes of activity every day.
