Marine Corps League Sgt. Max was a good boy and a good Marine.

The English bulldog died of cancer April 19 after a six-year tour of duty with the Marine Corps League in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

According to his obituary, Max was proud to be a Marine and loved wearing his uniform.

“Max was somewhat of a hardcore Marine, as he was kicked out and banned from a couple of boarding facilities in Lake Havasu City, Arizona,” the obituary reads. “Sgt. Max, however, loved being around people and people loved being around Max. “
