Luke Perry’s Son Reveals the Most Important Lesson His Dad Taught Him

By Audacy

It’s no question Luke Perry was beloved by people all around the world. And his son, Jack Perry, is trying to honor his late father’s legacy by staying true to the man he raised him to be.

Over the weekend, the 21-year-old opened up about the best advice the former "Riverdale" star gave to him.

“My dad really just taught me to be as nice as you can to everyone you can,” he told People at the American Icon Awards this weekend. “He was from Ohio and he grew up with not a lot of money and I think he never really lost touch with who he was. He was always just a really good guy above everything else.”

And while it’s only been two months since the actor passed away, his son is coping with the loss as best as he can.

“I think everybody’s just doing the best they can and kind of taking it day by day,” he added. “It was kind of wild because there was this private thing obviously for me and family, but, at the same time, the whole world was kind of involved.”

Jack added, “I’m proud to know that my dad touched so many people in a really positive way and made them feel better.”

One of the ways the late actor touched audiences was through his iconic work on the ‘90s series "Beverly Hills 90210," but it’s a show that wasn’t very popular with his own son.

“I haven’t really seen the old one, so I don’t know. I might have to binge on that first,” the wrestler told Us Magazine. “I’ve seen it, like, once or twice when I was home sick from school, but I don’t know. I thought it was kind of cheesy.” Blasphemy!

But like a good Gen Z member, Jack is a fan of his most recent work.

“I’ve seen a bit of Riverdale,” he said. “It’s interesting to see him up there because that’s not the guy that I know. It’s a character.”

Prior to Perry’s death, Jack got to work alongside his father on his final film - Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."

The film is set to release on July 26th.
